Schizophrenia is a chronic, severe and disabling brain disorder that affects about 1% of people over the age of 18 years. Patients diagnosed with schizophrenia usually experience multiple symptoms such as hallucinations, delusional thoughts, apathy, lack of emotion, poor social functioning and cognition disorders. Although there is no cure for schizophrenia, current antipsychotic drug helps relieve the symptoms of schizophrenia, but lifelong treatment is usually required.
