Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder with motor symptoms caused by the death of dopaminergic (DA) neurons in the striatum. There is no medication to cure or halt this disease yet.
6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) is a neurotoxin widely used in lab animals to produce striatal dopamine depletion together with motor deficit.
